Making Of + New Game
Posted by DanielI wrote an article about making the battle system. It’s too long to put here so I posted it in the forums. I don’t know if it’s interesting for anybody who didn’t make it so let me know.

Some of you will now know that the next Lilly and Sasha game is called The Nexus of Souls. If you haven’t completed CoTI yet, don’t worry, it’s not a spoiler. Andrew read something about ‘x’ sounds being good for titles plus Nexus is just a cool word to use.
Most of the storyboard has already been worked out. Even once CoTI was feature complete we kept getting new ideas so we wrote them down. Now we have a massive list of things that we can choose from to build the next game. It will be a shorter development cycle because we already have menus, battles and mouse done and that’s what I spent most of my time on for CoTI.
Now that all the scripts are done, I can’t wait to spend more time making exciting quests and new puzzles.
We’re also working on another game. Something very different. Will it be awesome? I dunno, probably.
A small update
Posted by DanielI updated Lilly and Sasha today to fix a few small issues.
- Terry would fight you again.
- You could enter the farm house the wrong way and get a error.
- The code chest in Wilson’s Manor took your item off you even if it was the wrong one.
- There were strange looking black areas in the opening scene.
You can download the update if you want but it’s not required.
The only one of those that would cause any trouble is the Wilson’s Manor item thing. I don’t think it will affect many people but if you seem to be missing an item that you need, I can give it back to you. Just email me or post on the forums.
Oh yeah and you should probably ignore my previous post. Bad time to write on the blog.
Thanks for the votes and comments.
Lilly and Sasha is out!
Posted by DanielI’ve finally finished setting everything up and the game is available to download and buy. Now we’ll just have to wait and see if people like it.
I’ve written a lot on this blog about the game but there’s so much more I haven’t said. So many subtle changes that we have made since Dawn’s Light, as well as some not so subtle changes.
We considered making a smaller, cheaper game after Dawn’s Light because I worry that with all the $7 games out there, people will be less willing to take a risk with a more expensive game.
In the end though, we decided to just make the game we wanted to make and let people make up their own mind whether it’s worth spending a little more.

Christmas Tale Commentary
Posted by DanielWe released Dawn’s Light: A Christmas Tale at the end of last year. It ended up being so much fun that we plan to do another free Christmas themed game this year.
Aislingyngaio played through the game recently and was kind enough to write a walkthrough. But this isn’t just a walkthrough, it also features Aislings thoughts on the events that occur. It’s very entertaining, even if she does point out things that are supposed to be a secret.
