Are we there yet?
Posted by DanielSo did we make our goal of having the game beta ready by July 23rd? Not quite, close though. It’ll be a bit longer but I don’t think it will change my rough release estimate of mid August.
I made a quick video of an early part of the game. See video here.
Getting There
Posted by AndrewWe’ve been working hard on Dawn’s Light 2. Main scenes and everything are finished now. We have a few things in dungeons to finish, then onto finishing side quests and then the long, arduous task of putting in all the finishing touches/unnecessary things.
Here’s a couple of pictures to keep you interested.
Alternate Ending for Vera
Posted by DanielI’ve made a new ending for a player who didn’t like Vera’s ending very much. I’ll post it here so you can see it. Be careful though, it may contain spoilers if you haven’t yet beaten the game. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Deleted Scene #1
Posted by DanielWhile we were making Dawn’s Light we had so many ideas that some of them had to be cut. This is a scene that took place after Harvey has his confrontation with Victor. The idea is to defend Twilight Village from the invaders by making bombs and other traps. The enemies come in waves and if you survive all three waves then you win.
Sadly it just didn’t work out that well, it was confusing and wasn’t really that fun. Here’s a video that shows the scene in action.
Dawn’s Light Released!
Posted by DanielWe are proud to announce the release of our first game, Dawn’s Light! You can download it right now and if you like it enough, you should buy it! =)
Not convinced? Well let me tell you a bit more about the game.
Dawn’s Light was designed around the idea that it should be fun to play instead of being annoying. Now that the game is done I have to say that it definitely lives up to that idea.
To make the game more fun we:
- Gave each dungeon a unique story (not just ‘bad guy, get him’)
- Created many unique puzzles and challenges to break up the fighting
- Created tons of sidequests so you always have something to do other than the main quest
To make the game less annoying we:
- Created a journal system so you can always see what you’ve done and what you need to do
- Created an atlas so you don’t get lost
- Made all negative status effects fade away after battle!
Of course there’s many more examples but these are just the main ones. We just made the game we wanted to play. An interesting game with all of the fun parts and none of the boring parts.
We hope you like it!
